Das Kanu Camp Laajalahti ist die ideale Basis um mit dem Kanu die finnische Seenplatte zu erkunden. Von hier aus sind Tagestouren möglich aber auch Rundtouren von bis zu sechs Wochen. Das Camp ist speziell ausgerichtet auf Paddler. Es können verschiedene Hütten gemietet werden womit gleichzeitig ohne Aufpreis Fahrräder, Sauna und Shopping Shuttels zur Verfügung stehen.
Zur Miete stehen Canadier (klassisch Kanu) wie auch Einzel und Doppelkajaks zur Verfügung. Zusätzliche Ausrüstung für Kanutouren wie Zelt, Kocher, Schlafsäcke und Isomatte können ebenfalls gemietet werden. Proviant kann bestellt werden. Im Kanu Camp Laajalahti legt man besonders Wert darauf sich für jeden Gast Zeit zu nehmen um eine unvergessliches Kanu Abenteuer zu ermöglichen. Ein Abholservice vom Bahnhof Mikkeli oder Busstation Puumala steht zur Verfügung.

The camp is right at the centre of the Saimaa Lake District, 13 km south of Puumala and a 4 hours car drive away from the capital Helsinki (320km). For the guests there is free car parking available. For guests arriving with the train from Helsinki there is a bus transfer available on sundays from the station in Mikkeli to the camp.

2 and 3-seater Canoes available for rent on a weekly basis from Camp Laajalahti. You can organize your individual tour. This is for people with outdoor experience. All canoes are unsinkable. Waterproof plastic barrels for your luggage, life jackets, lifeline, maps and compass are obligatory. Each guest receives detailed information about paddling, Everyman’s right, and route planning. In case of an emergency you can get help via GSM from everywhere in the Lake Saimaa region – so take your mobile phone with you. In general can be said that Lake Saimaa is a calm lake without dangerous currents. Our canoes are easy to steer due to their three keels. They also have in-built air tanks, which make them unsinkable. Your luggage is stored in waterproof plastic barrels and boxes, as well as under tarpaulins. Our Kayaks are suitable for beginners, are steered with the feet and have separate storage space with waterproof hatches. In addition you will receive waterproof storage bags. The double paddles can be separated and, therefore, be turned to the right and to the left.
